Srinagar\23\\: Chairman Hurriyat Syed Ali Geelani expressed his happiness and thanked the people for protesting against the printing of blasphemous sketches of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and strongly condemned the house arrest of the pro-freedom leader Mohammad Ashruf Sehrai, hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Raja Mehraj-ud-din by the state police and said that they want to maintain a graveyard silence in Kashmir. He said that today’s shutdown and protest was a matter of faith of every Muslim and by placing ban over this, the state police have done a stupid act. In a telephonic statement from New Delhi, Geelani sahib said that the Muslims from all over the world are protesting today against the blasphemous sketches of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and are giving a message to the whole world that we the Muslims can’t tolerate any insult of our beloved Prophet of Islam (SAW) and for this we can sacrifice our lives. He said that the big print and electronic media houses of the world are running under the influence of Zionist forces and in a well planed way they are provoking the Muslims of the world. They want to prove the Muslims as intolerant and extremists. They are the experts of hatching conspires against their opponents. Geelani sahib said that it is our religious duty to protest against these stupid acts but our protests should be very disciplined and peaceful. He further said that the best way of showing the love and affection with the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is to follow his teachings and ways and propagate this message to the whole world.
