Hurriyat conference strongly condemned the police raids, detention, harassment of political leaders, and political activists, saying that ahead of the call given by Joint Resistance Leadership for public gathering in Islamabad(Anantanag), police arrested and raided residences of several leaders including Bilal Sidiqee, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Mohammad Yasin Ataie and Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, while as Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and Mohammad Ashraf Laya were put under house arrest.

Hurriyat has also taken serious notice of the continuous police raids on the residence of Huriyat spokesman, Gh Ahmad Gulzar, Mohamad Yusuf Makroo, Umar Adil Dar, Aashiq Hussain Narchoor and added that the police continue with its hunt for many other leaders and activists.

Such coercive measures and repression won’t break our resolve saying, most of its leaders and activists succeeded and reached Islamabad.

Appealing people of south Kashmir for their passionate participation, Huriyat said that it will symbolise our dedication and commitment with freedom movement.

Huriyat conference said that we are convening the Jalsa in solidarity with people in south Kashmir for their exemplary valour and dedication and asked people to attend said Jalsa in large number to show commitment with freedom movement and added that it will convey a message to occupiers and their masters that despite the use of their military might, harassment, detentions and killing people, freedom sentiment is at its peak and alive.

Huriyat said Mohammad Ashraf Laya was supposed to attend court in Jammu on December 14, however was detained and put under house arrest.

Meanwhile Hurriyat spokesman while terming the so-called notice issued by New Delhi’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) as unjustified and politically motivated, said that move is an attempt to pressurize and intimidate Syed Ali Geelani and the resistance leadership. “The notice is a pressure tactic aimed at deterring the pro-freedom people from advocating their just cause, said spokesman.

He said, “Delhi has tried all its moves to cow down Geelani’s resolve and these state-sponsored tactics won’t deter us from pursuing our mission nor will these coercions, suppressive and aggressive measures make us to surrender”.

Authorities are desperate, hence are levelling fabricated charges against Geelani, said spokesman and asked them to desist from such follies and deceitful ploys.
