Expressing serious concern over the arrest spree waged by Indian forces and state police , APHC general secretary Haji Gh Nabi Sumji  cautioned state authorities  to end unleashing a “reign of terror” in the Valley. The repressive and suppressive measures won’t force us to submission and despite these arbitrary measures, detentions, humiliations and denying political space, we will pursue our cherished mission, said Sumji.

He in his statement while referring to fresh arrest spree and night raids in south Kashmir and particularly in district Islamabad ,said that several youth including Shabir Ahmad Rather (Mehmood Abad ) Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh ( Veri Nag), Aijaz Ahmad Malik (Qamar Shah Abad Islam Abad) have been arrested and PSA slapped against them. “While Kashmir is mourning the worst-ever humanitarian crises, the government has furthered the terror through arrest spree being undertaken by police,” Sumji said in a statement issued Thursday evening.

He said the police station have turned into torture cells, adding that the youth are being tortured on the instructions of state authorities. Slamming state administration ,Sumji said that state government is hell bent to subject people to terror day and night and added that puppet authorities under the garb of AFSPA, NSA, MISA and PSA are pushing youth to wall and no accountability prevails to check their wrongdoings.

Sumji cautioned the government that through use of more brute force, things will only worsen.  Kashmir is facing worst ever rights abuse and international community must take note of this and help and rescue subjugated people of Jammu Kashmir in their struggle for right to self-determination,” he said.
