Press Release

Srinagar July 11, 2019: Praying glorious tributes to the martyrs of 1931, All Parties Hurriyat Conference, endorsing the JRL shutdown call, has appealed people to pay homage to all the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir on 13 July.

Hurriyat Conference said that on the directions of its chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat leaders will visit to martyrs graveyard to pay homage of the martyrs there.

In a statement Hurriyat said that when public anger against the discretion of Holly Quran was at its peak, a young man Ab. Qadeer Khan delivered an emotional speech to wake up the Kashmiries from slumber and join their hands and heads against the autocratic and forced rule of Maharaja.

This young man was arrested, a case against him was registered and its proceeding started in Central Jail Srinagar. People from all walks started pouring in to witness the legal course of their “strange” hero. When they were waiting outside Central Jail Srinagar, at the time of Zuhar, one person started giving “Azan”. Maharaja’s armed forces opened fire killing him on spot, another person started giving Azan, he too was gunned down, then another-- 22 persons fell to the bullets just to complete the “Azan”

Hurriyat said that best and the only way to pay homage to these martyrs is to collectively fight for injustice, hegemony, autocracy, forcible occupation and armed aggression.

Hurriyat Conference also appealed to respected Imams and Khateebs to pay homage of all martyrs collectively and apprise the people of their responsibilities to protect their faith and identity.

Srinagar July 11, 2019: Seriously concerned and anguished on some social media reports, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly denounced any account being run in the name of its chairman Syed Ali Geelani.

Hurriyat Conference wants to make it loud and clear that no social media account (Twitter and Facebook) is being operated in the name of All Parties Hurriyat Conference or its chairman Syed Ali Geelani.
